Fatima Jinnah Web Series Starring Sajal Aly and Others to Release on August 14

(MANEND NEWS): A web series based on the life of Fatima Jinnah, the sister of Quaid-e-Azam Mohammad Ali Jinnah and a prominent leader of the Pakistan Movement, is set to release its first part on August 14, the Independence Day of Pakistan. The web series, titled “Fatima Jinnah: Sister | Revolutionist | Stateswoman”, is directed by Danial K Afzal and features three talented actresses who will portray Fatima Jinnah in different phases of her life. Sundus Farhan will play Fatima Jinnah in her 30s during the pre-partition era, Sajal Aly will play her in her 50s during the Independence era, and Samiya Mumtaz will play her in her 70s during the post-partition era. The first part of the web series will focus on Fatima Jinnah’s role as a sister and a loyal companion to Quaid-e-Azam, who led the struggle for the creation of Pakistan. The web series will also show the interactions of Fatima Jinnah with other historical figures, such as Allama Iqbal, Liaquat Ali Khan, Ruttie Jinnah, and Rana Liaquat Hussain.

The web series is based on a book by Reza Pirbhai, which presents a nuanced and human portrayal of Fatima Jinnah, rather than an idealized or patriotic one. The web series aims to explore the complexities and challenges that Fatima Jinnah faced as one of the most influential figures in South Asian history. The web series will have three seasons, each consisting of 15 episodes. The web series will be available on aur-digital, a new digital platform. The web series has already released a 14-minute prologue in 2022, which generated a lot of buzz and anticipation among the viewers. The web series promises to be an epic saga that goes beyond the expected, and offers an immersive and unforgettable experience.
