SWAT, (MANEND NEWS): The police force has shown better performance in various operational activities, carried out during recent days at all districts of Malakand region. On the directions of Regional Police Officer (RPO) Malakand Sajjad Khan, besides several intelligence-based and search and strike operations, snap checking, night patrolling and other operational activities were launched, whereas, a large number of proclaim offenders and other accused have been arrested and suspects interrogated. Moreover, police have also seized a high number of illegal weapons, timber and drugs in various districts of the region.
According to details, in light of clear directions, issued by of the RPO Malakand Sajjad Khan, police in the districts of Swat, Bunir, Shangla, Dir Lower, Dir Upper,Chitral Upper,Chitral Lower and Bajaur, launched successful operational activities wherein, a total No. of 191 proclaim offenders (POs) have been arrested, while 1621 suspects have also been interrogated. In the same way, police have seized 40 SMG guns, 19 rifles, 77 short guns, 397 pistols and 7024 rounds.
Moreover, 17 daggers, 101 magazines, 1.5 kg of explosives, 87 safety fuses and 205 dynamite have also been recovered. Police have seized at least 183.697 kg of hashish, at least 9.105 kg opium, 5.148 kg heroin, 2.68 kg of ice and 312 liters of alcohol. Similarly, around 269 timber sleepers have also been confiscated. Moreover, police have recovered an amount worth of Rs.14, 86000, snatched in various incidents.
The police have also provided their full cooperation in tourist’s facilitation, at all the tourism spots of the region, especially in Swat. The police, in this connection, performed their duty to facilitate tourists with full devotion during winter festivals at the tourist places Piza Gat and Malam Jaba areas.
The RPO Sajjad Khan, while commenting regarding police performance, said that police force actions against anti-social elements, drugs, and perpetrators of social evils in the society would be continue without any interruption and no one was allowed to take the law into their own hands. He further added that all the DPOs have been directed to maintain law and order and to take stern actions without any delay against proclaim offenders, accused involved in other crimes, illegal weapons, land grabbing mafias, drug dealers, elements involved in underplay and usurers.
