Bugti takes notice of cop’s misconduct during Feb 8 strike

QUETTA(manend news) Balochistan Chief Minister Mir Sarfraz Bugti has taken serious notice of the manhandling of a protester by a police officer during a shutter-down and wheel-jam strike, expressing strong displeasure over the incident.

He termed the act “inhumane and unprofessional”, stating that violations of the law and misuse of authority would not be tolerated under any circumstances.

CM Bugti emphasised that police officials must operate strictly within legal boundaries and uphold every citizen’s dignity, which he described as a core responsibility of the state and a key component of professionalism.

He directed the relevant authorities to initiate immediate, transparent, and impartial legal action against the officer involved to ensure justice and prevent similar incidents. He said no government official is above the law and the provincial government remains committed to protecting human rights and the rule of law.
