Snowfall continues in upper areas of Dir in Lowari Tunnel, Lowari Top, Kumrat etc

Dir (Manand Correspondent) Rain in Dir city including plains, while snowfall continues in upper areas of Dir in Lowari Tunnel, Lowari Top, Kumrat for the second day. With the end of the 46-day dry season due to rain, the intensity of cold has increased, traffic has resumed between Chitral and Dir via Lowari Road. According to details, the long dry season in Dir city of Upper Dir district including plains and floodplains, which had been going on for the past 46 days, Allah willing, Allah willing, and people prayed for rain and finally the long drought ended with rain and snowfall from Sunday evening. Due to the dry season, hospitals were filled with throat, respiratory, cough and other diseases in the last two months. However, intermittent rain and snowfall has been continuing in Lowari Tunnel, Lowari Top and its surroundings and Kumrat, Badgui for the last two days. After 46 days, tourists along with locals reached Lowari to see the snowfall, where tourists enjoyed the snowfall. While Deputy Commissioner Naveed Akbar himself visited the Lowari Tunnel and reviewed the snowfall situation and directed the NHA officials to clear the snowfall from the tunnel road so that passengers can reach their respective areas on time. After which the NHA officials are clearing the snow from the Lowari Road with heavy machinery, while the plains and upper areas are also facing difficulties due to the increase in the cold wave. Therefore, winter vacations will be given in government schools of Dir Bala from today, which will last till February 28, as announced by the Education Department and the provincial government.
