LAHORE, (MANEND NEWS): Justice Muhammad Ameer Bhatti took oath
as the new Chief Justice of the Lahore High Court (LHC) on Tuesday.
Punjab Governor Chaudhry Muhammad Sarwar administered the oath
to the new Chief Justice in a ceremony at the governor house.
Punjab Chief Minister Sardar Usman Ahmed Khan Buzdar, the
Provincial Ministers, judges of the LHC, and other prominent
personalities also attended the ceremony.
It is worth mentioning here that Justice Muhammad Ameer Bhatti has
taken oath as CJ LHC after the retirement of Justice Muhammad Qasim
Khan as Chief Justice Lahore High Court on Monday.
Justice Muhammad Ameer Bhatti will retire from his position on 7th
March 2024 after reaching the age of retirement age of 62 years.
Now Justice Malik Shahzad Ahmad Khan has become the Senior Puisne
Judge of LHC. Currently 11 sanctioned vacancies of the judges of
Lahore High Court are vacant. There are 60 sanctioned vacancies of
judges in LHC and after retirement of CJ LHC Muhammad Qasim Khan
the number of serving judges in LHC has reduced to 49.
