Islamabad (Manand News Desk) The federal cabinet has issued a notification for a nationwide lockdown. There will be a complete and comprehensive lockdown for two days every Saturday and Sunday from April 4 and 5, 2026 across the country.
The lockdown will come into effect from 12.01 pm every Saturday and will continue till 11.59 pm every Sunday. The lockdown will apply to all business and commercial activities, including industrial and service sectors. No weddings or other celebrations will be allowed in any commercial or public institutions during the lockdown days.
All markets will remain closed. However, hospitals, pharmacies and essential public services including airports, ports and railway stations will be allowed to function during the lockdown hours. And all inter-city motorways, highways and roads will also remain closed to all types of traffic during the lockdown hours. However, ‘public transport buses’ will be exempted. And the Chief Secretaries of the provinces will ensure prompt and speedy registration of two- and three-wheeled vehicles in the names of their owners for the provision of targeted subsidies.
