TMA employees protest non-payment of salaries

BATKHELA, (MANEND NEWS): The employees of tehsil municipal administration on Tuesday locked the offices of (TMA) and staged a sit-in to protest the non-payment of salaries for the last four months.

The employees locked the gates of the offices and gathered outside the TMA building. They threatened to halt municipal services if their stuck up salaries were not paid by November 17.The protesting workers, including union president Anwar Khan, gene4ral secretary Muhammad Ghaffar and others, said that they had not been paid their salaries for the last four months, adding their families were faced with starvation and a host of problems because of the financial crunch. The vowed that their strike would be continued until and unless their salaries were paid.

The employees asked the caretaker chief minister and deputy commissioner Malakand to take notice of the issue and release their pending salaries forthwith.The TMA workers also urged the local leaders of political parties to play their role for the release of their salaries.
