US Secretary of Defence phones COAS Gen Asim Munir

RAWALPINDI, (MANEND NEWS): US Secretary of Defence Lloyd J. Austin III on Friday telephoned Chief of Army Staff (COAS) Gen Asim Munir and congratulated him on his appointment, Dunya News reported.

The US secretary spoke over phone to the new Pakistan Chief of Army Staff Gen Asim Munir, a press statement of the US Department of Defence reads. He congratulated Gen Munir on his appointment as COAS and discussed areas of mutual interest as well as recent regional developments.
