Bajaur police complain about delay in provision of facilities

BAJAUR, (MANEND NEWS): Police personnel here in Bajaur have complained about the prolonged delay in provision of facilities being enjoyed by the police force in settled districts of the province and called for an early action in this regard.

They raised their issues at the Police Darbar (gathering) held during the visit of regional police officer, Malakand division, Sajjad Khan at the Jirga Hall in Civil Colony, Khar, the other day.

A large number of police personnel, including district police officer Shaukat Ali, were in attendance.

Speaking at the darbar, some station house officers and other officials highlighted the issues of the local police.

The RPO was informed that a total of 2,441 personnel of former Levies and Khasadar forces were merged into regular police force in Bajaur.

However, the officials said that most of the approved facilities and privileges were yet to be given to the Bajaur police despite passage of about three years of their absorption in the KP police.

They said that several officials who were promoted to the rank of inspector and sub-inspector some two years ago had not been given due status though posts of SIs and ASIs had been lying vacant in the district.

The visiting police officer was informed that sons of most of the martyred personnel had not been recruited in the police, which was against the government policy.

Addressing the event, RPO Sajjad Khan said that he would raise these issues with the provincial police chief for their early resolution.

INJURED: One Gul Hakeem and four women of his family were injured when a pressure cooker exploded in kitchen of their house during cooking in Chamiar Johar area of Mamund tehsil here the other day, Rescue 1122 said in a statement.

It said that a rescue team shifted the wounded to the district headquarters hospital, Khar. It quoted doctors of the hospital as saying that condition of the wounded was out of danger.
