Forest dept receives vehicles from KfW Bank to control illegal logging

PESHAWAR (Manend News) Khyber Pakhtunkhwa Minister for Forests, Fazal Hakim Yousafzi on Thursday received field vehicles from KfW Development Bank to support activities of Billion Tree Forestation Support Project KP.
Vehicles were handed over to forest department in a ceremony that was attended by concerned officials and MPA Sultan Room.
Speaking on the occasion, the minister said that vehicles would enhance mobility of forest officials and help them to control illegal logging and smuggling in forest divisions.
He vowed to protect forests and directed officials to utilize available resources to fulfill the responsibility.
The minister said that strict action would be taken against timber mafia and elements involved in logging and smuggling.
