LHC bench headed by Justice Sardar Sarfraz Dogar to hear bail
application of Shehbaz Sharif on 29 th March

LAHORE, (MANEND NEWS): Pakistan Muslim League-Nawaz (PML-N)
President and Leader of the Opposition in National Assembly Mian
Muhammad Shehbaz Sharif has field bail application in money
laundering reference in Lahore High Court on Friday.

Meanwhile two-member bench of the Lahore High Court (LHC) headed
by Justice Sardar Muhammad Sarfraz Dogar and comprising Justice
Asjad Javaid Ghural will conduct hearing on the bail application of
Shehbaz Sharif on 29 th March.
Shehbaz Sharif has field the bail application through his counsel
Muhammad Amjad Parvez Advocate. Chairman NAB justice (retd)
Javed Iqbal, DG NAB Lahore Major (retd) Saleem Shahzad and others
have been made party in the bail application. Shehbaz Sharif has
argued in the bail application that the reference of the money
laundering case has been field in the accountability court of Lahore
and trial of the case is also continuing. It has been argued in the bail
application that NAB arrested Shehbaz Sharif with mala fide intension.
Shehbaz Sharif has argued in the bail application that he is present in
jail from last many months, adding that all the record is present with
NAB and no recovery from him is required to NAB. Shehbaz Sharif has
argued in the bail application that the court may grant bail and release
him, adding that he will regularly join the trial of the case.
It is worth mentioning here that Lahore High Court has already
granted bail to Leader of the Opposition in Punjab Assembly
Muhammad Hamza Shehbaz Sharif in the money laundering reference.
It is worth mentioning here that on September 28, 2020, NAB team
had arrested Shehbaz Sharif in money laundering case after Lahore
High Court (LHC) rejected his bail plea.
A two-member bench of the Lahore High Court comprising Justice
Sardar Ahmed Naeem and Justice Farooq Haider heard the plea,
during which Shehbaz Sharif’s lawyer presented his arguments.
Counsel of PML-N President argued that Shehbaz Sharif saved over
Rs1,000 billion of national exchequer and never received his pay as a
member of National Assembly.
No evidence was available against Shehbaz Sharif in money laundering
case and none of the witnesses accused PML-N leader of the ill
practice, he added.
