Air Marshal Zaheer Ahmed Babar Sidhu takes charge as new PAF Chief

ISLAMABAD, (MANEND NEWS): Air Marshal Zaheer Ahmed Babar Sidhu
took charge as the new Air Chief of Pakistan Air Force (PAF) at an
impressive change of command ceremony in Islamabad on Friday.
On the occasion, outgoing Air Chief Mujahid Anwar Khan pinned
badges on the new air chief and presented him the command sword.
The outgoing air chief also reviewed guard of honor. A formation of JF-
17 fighter jets presented salute to him.
In his farewell address, outgoing Air Chief Mujahid Anwar Khan said
serving Pakistan Air Force over four decades has been a privilege,
honor and a matter of immense satisfaction for him.
Mujahid Anwar Khan said that certainly I can not thing of a greater
honor then leading one of the finest air force of the world, adding that
during my inaugural address on this very day three years ago I
pledged you and this nation that we would maintain, retain and earn
the tidal of the pride of the nation and be second to none, our
adversaries will know that we will and we shall pay any price to defend
Pakistan. Mujahid Anwar Khan said we upheld the pledge made three
years ago and its manifestation was operation Swift Resort, adding
that PAF once again lived up to the nation’s expectations and proved
to the be the guardians of our free blue skies, our response was timely
and well calibrated, which kept the adversary at bay.
He said the PAF is a strong element of national defense and pride of
the nation. Mujahid Anwar Khan said despite testing times, the PAF
has made great strides on its journey to excellence and continued

transformation for the Next Generation Air Force 2047. He said our
vision requires relentless pursuit in the years and decades to come.
Mujahid Anwar Khan said that I am proud to lead Pakistan Air Force in
the highest state of operational readiness, prepared to face any
challenge befittingly under the able leadership of accomplish
professional chief of air staff designate Air Marshal Babar.
Congratulating Zaheer Ahmed Babar Sidhu on his appointment as the
Air Chief, Mujahid Anwar Khan said his successor is a sound
professional with extraordinary leadership qualities. He expressed the
confidence that during his tenure, the PAF will scale to new heights of
excellence. Mujahid Anwar Khan said that my successor is a sound
professional with extraordinary leadership qualities and above all he is
an excellent human being, adding that he takes over the responsibility
of Pakistan Air Force fully charged and with spirit of great courage,
commitment, professionalism and specifically looking after every
serving and retired individual of Pakistan Air Force, adding that my
prayers would always be with him to lead PAF with exemplary traits.
Mujahid Anwar Khan said that undoubtedly spending a major part of
my life amongst the finest professionals has always been a source of
unparallel joy, adding that I shall always cherish the memories
gathered during all these years.
