PTI challenges ECP's decision of NA-75 Daska re-polling in SC

ISLAMABAD, (MANEND NEWS): Pakistan Tehreek-e-Insaf (PTI) on
Friday challenged the Election Commission of Pakistan’s (ECP) decision
of re-polling in NA-75 Daska in the Supreme Court of Pakistan.
PTI candidate Ali Asjad Malhi has made his opponent Syeda Nosheen
Iftikhar party in the petition along with others and maintained that the
ECP did not follow the rules and regulations while issuing order of re-
election in the entire constituency.
Ali Asjad Malhi said the ECP verdict violates Article 10-A, and
requested the apex court to issue results of the by-election after
nullifying the ECP decision.
It is pertinent here to mention that the ECP had nullified by-election in
NA-75 Daska and ordered to conduct re-polling in the entire
constituency on March 18.
Announcing the reserved verdict, Chief Election Commissioner (CEC)
Dr. Sikandar Sultan Raja declared that the by-poll in the constituency
was not fair and transparent. Law and order situation was disrupted
while an environment of fear was created among the locals, he added.
